Rabbi Jonah Steinmetz

Silver Family Rosh Kollel

Rabbi Jonah Steinmetz was raised in Woodmere, NY. He spent ten years at Yeshiva University, learning under Rav Mayer Twersky. After graduating as the YP Valedictorian, Rabbi Steinmetz continued his studies in the RIETS Semicha Honors Program and Rav Hershel Schachter’s kollel. He then spent three years studying in the Wexner Kollel Elyon at YU. Rabbi Steinmetz has been a lecturer and rabbinic associate at various shuls in the Five Towns community. He is the founder and director of Asicha Seminars, a learning program for post-Seminary women, and also a maggid shiur for the Semichas Chaver Program in Washington Heights and Bergenfield. Rabbi Steinmetz and his wife Shoshana, a pharmacist, are joining the community along with their four children, Shmuel, Shulamis, Malkiel, and Yosef Dov.

Rabbi Yoni Pere

Gindi Family Sgan Rosh Kollel

Originally from West Hempstead, NY, Rabbi Yoni Pere attended Yeshiva Reishit Yerushalayim for two years and then Yeshiva University. He learned in Rav Ya’akov Neuburger’s shiur. Upon graduating, Rabbi Pere entered the Semicha Honors program and studied in Rav Hershel Schachter’s kollel. He subsequently studied in the Wexner Kollel Elyon for three years. Rabbi Pere successfully directed an early morning kollel in Washington Heights for YU alumni in the workforce and interned as a rebbe in TABC High School. Rabbi Pere, his wife, Devorah, and their children – Ayelet, Shlomo, Moshe, and Simcha – are thrilled to be joining the community.

Avreichim

R' Eli Morell

Eli Morell grew up in Monsey, NY. After learning in Shaalvim for two years, Eli returned to Yeshiva University to learn in Rav Herschel Schachter and Rav Mayer Twersky’s shiurim. He graduated with a degree in psychology. After college, while in the RIETS Semicha program, he studied in Rav Schachter’s kollel for two years. Eli hopes to eventually be involved in Chinuch and teaching Torah. Eli is married to Penina who will be working as a Judaic studies teacher in the community.

R’ Willy Kluger

Willy Kluger grew up in Highland Park, NJ. After learning in Netiv Aryeh for two years, Willy returned to Yeshiva University and studied in Rav Elchanan Adler’s shiur for three years. He graduated with a degree in mathematical economics. During his years in the RIETS Semicha Program, Willy learned under Rabbi Aryeh Lebowitz and Rav Herschel Schachter. Willy is married to Chanie, who works as a teacher. They are excited to move to Los Angeles along with their son, Chaim.

R’ Doni Schanzer

Doni Schanzer grew up in Edison, NJ. After learning in Yeshivat Shaalvim in Eretz Yisroel, Doni returned to Yeshiva University and learned in Rav Elchanan Adler’s shiur for three years. He graduated with a degree in mathematical economics and plans to attend medical school to become a physician. Doni is married to Shira, who is working as a teacher and hopes to attend PsyD school. Some of Doni’s hobbies include playing sports such as basketball and tennis, as well as playing the guitar.

R' Moshe Simon

Moshe Simon grew up in Queens, NY. After learning in Shaalvim for two years, Moshe returned to Yeshiva University and learned in Rav Michael Rosensweig’s shiur. He graduated with a degree in Political Science. Moshe’s wife, Rachel, is working as a teacher in the community.

R’ Menachum Polack

Menachum Polack grew up in Brookline, MA and attended Maimonides School K-12. After high school, Menachum spent two years learning in Yeshiva Torat Shraga, followed by 4 years in YU’s undergraduate program, learning in Rav Elchanan Adler’s shiur and graduating with a degree in accounting. Ever since then, Menachum has been studying in the RIETS Semicha program and Rav Hershel Schachter’s kollel. Menachum is married to Gila who will continue her teaching in Los Angeles.

R’ Zack Steiner

Zack Steiner is originally from Monsey, New York. After learning in Yeshivat Shaalvim for two years, Zack attended Yeshiva University and learned in Rav Rosensweig’s shiur. He graduated with a degree in Psychology and hopes to have a career in chinuch. Zack is married to Atara, who works as the Assistant Director of Community Outreach for ORA.
